[ May 05, 2017 ] : Vigilance Organization, Jammu has produced Challan in case FIR No.6/2011 u/s 5(1) (e) r/w section 5(2), J&K P.C Act Svt. 2006 and section 109 RPC against Shri Sujjan Singh then TSO CA&PD Department Kishtwar S/O Late Tara Chand R/O Atholi Padder and his wife Smt Kalawati Devi before the Hon’ble court of Special judge Anti-Corruption, Doda. Brief facts of the case are that on 10-05-2011 the instant case was registered in P/S VOJ against the said TSO on the basis of a verification conducted into the allegations of possessing disproportionate assets to his known sources of income. During investigation house searches of the accused were conducted at Jammu as well as at Kishtwar. During house searchers incriminating documents were recovered and seized in the case. During the investigation the role of his wife Smt Kalawati Devi who is a retired teacher by profession was also investigated and during investigation on the basis of record and evidences, it was found that Smt Kalawati Devi W/O the accused Sujjan Singh has abetted and facilitated her husband in raising the disproportionate assets. During the investigation section 8(B) of P.C Act was invoked in the case and after completion of legal formalities the properties of the accused were attached at village Atholi Padder and Subash Nagar, Jammu including eight bank accounts standing on the name of accused Sujjan Singh and his family members. During the investigation the extent of disproportionate assets was found exceeding beyond the legitimate sources of income of both husband and wife which makes it evident that the properties both moveable and immoveable have been raised by them through ill-gotten money. The next date of hearing in the case has been fixed for 23-05-2017.
