[ May 13, 2017 ] Aimed at ensuring peace and harmony in the country, the government must deal with terrorism, militancy and all sorts of criminal activities with iron hand. Prime Minister must show commitment to establish Bangladesh as a safe haven for all people by combating terrorists, militants and their monstrous activities from the country. Vested quarter is trying to hatch conspiracy in the name of IS militants to destabilize the country by killing people. Government with its sincere efforts must work to combat terrorism and militancy strictly to ensure peace for every people of the society in accordance with the "zero tolerance policy" against terrorism and militancy.Zakir Rashid Bhat, better known as Zakir Musa, was portrayed as the new face of terror in Kashmir Valley after Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter with security forces on July 8 last year.Hizbul Mujahideen made him the successor of Burhan Wani. He is said to be in his early 20s and has risen through the Hizbul rank rapidly. Three years after joining the terror group, he was given charge of terror operations in the Valley. But, like his rise, his downfall in the Hizbul Mujahideen seems to have been equally rapid. A day after threatening separatist leaders of Kashmir with beheading them at the Lal Chowk of Srinagar for calling the issue a political one, Zakir Musa had to quit Hizbul.Incidents like the attack on an Army patrol in Kashmir by militants were part Pakistan’s tactics, which knew it could not fight and win a conventional war with India. They cannot fight a war against India and therefore what they are doing is, it is their strategy. But it will be defeated, even as they are isolated in the international forum. In the light of what Pakistan has been doing, including the beheading of two soldiers by Pakistan’s Special Forces along LoC, our Prime Minister had made it clear (after the Uri attack) that the sacrifice of the soldiers will not go in vain. Hizbul Mujahideen commander Zakir Musa on Friday threatened to slit the throats of Hurriyat leaders if they maintained to call Kashmir struggle a “political and not Islamic one”.He termed Kashmir struggle as Islamic one. This is for the first time that militants have threatened to execute Hurriyat leaders, though in the past they have been criticized for failure to come to the expectations of the people. He also warns separatist leaders of Kashmir not to meddle in the move to set up a caliphate in Jammu and Kashmir along the lines of the rule established by the ISIS in parts of Syria and Iraq. The movement so far has largely been about independence or annexation with Pakistan, without emphasizing Islam or connecting it to jihad but after this incident, the motive of those who were chanting for Azadi was cleared .The Hizbul Mujahideen is nearly as old as the Kashmiri militancy which started in 1989. The group is made up almost entirely of local youths, and had always campaigned for joining Pakistan. A study last year showed that six out of 10 young Kashmiris were watching videos of controversial Islamic preacher Zaki Naik or other jihadi videos.Jammu and Kashmir and center government , till date were of the view that there is absolutely no ISIS influence in Kashmir’s militancy, but all of sudden the change in the strategy of terrorist organization to give a new colour to the Kashmir that whatever is going on, is only for the sake of Islam .Now, security forces, and central government has a clear cut agenda, that what to do? Terrorists themselves showed their road map to the central government and the security forces. Now, the time has come for the state and the center government to sit together and solve this issue, for the larger interest of public. They have to come out with a strategy which can bring peace and prosperity in valley.
