Interstate thieves’ racket busted at Vaishno Devi Bhawan

[ May 26, 2017 ] Katra: Interstate thieves rackets busted at world famous shrine Mata Vaisnho Devi Bhawan by police department.20 thieves arrested with kingpin Mohd Shakeel R/o Delhi. Police trace 40 Moblie Phones worth Rs 9 lacs & 23,800 Rs cash.Katra police claimed to have busted a gang of interstate thieves here in Bhawan, today. As per police sources, based on information regarding roaming of thieves in Katra and Bhawan areas, a joint police Party of Police Station Bhawan and Katra under the supervision of concerned SHOs, DySP Bhawan, SDPO Katra, Addl. SP Katra and overall supervision of SSP Reasi detained five habitual thieves who were involved in series of theft cases at Mata Vaishno Devi track and all these thieves belonging to out of State.“All these thieves use to operate in small groups on the tracks and use to pick clothes and other belongings. Some of them are also expert pick pocketers”, SSP Reasi Surjit Kumar said. The accused have been identified as G.L Waris S/O Zaffar Babs Waris R/O Manlawa UP, Saanu S/O Usman R/O Kandel Ganj Kanpur UP, Mohd Sartaz S/O Raju R/O Kangi Mohal Kanpur UP, Gajinder Rai S/O Bangdeshwari R/O Bhimpur Bihar and Raj Kumar S/O Arun Singh R/O Sewan Bihar.He further said that during search eight mobile phones and coins of Mata Vaishno Devi were recovered from their possession. Besides this, he said, some other associates had also been identified and they had made their hideouts at Seemapuri Delhi. The officer further said that they usually come via train from Delhi and after making theft return back to Delhi.
