FMPHW’s protest for release of pending salary enters 27th day

[ June 10, 2017 ] Jammu: Protest of FMPHW’s for the release of pending salary and permanent solution of 2211- Salary Head entered into 27th days today with support of all categories of employees from Health Department joining hands with their struggle. Three days complete strike given by JKMEF earlier this month entered to its 3rd consecutive day. A complete shutdown was observed in Jammu Division except emergency services. All revenue generating counters remained closed, even the OPD Slips were not issued. Health Services at Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar / Sarwal / LRPU Gangyal and other Major/Minor health institutions in the Division remained paralyzed. Complete strike was observed thought the Division and the same will continue till 10th of this month.Hundreds of employees from various districts of Jammu province reached Kathua where inaugural function of Govt. Medical College, Kathua was scheduled to be held in presence of Sh. J.P. Nadda Union Health Minister, Madam Mehabooba Mufti Hon’ble Chief Minister of J&K and others functionaries of Government. FMPHW’s wanted to submit a memorandum to Hon’ble Union Minister and Chief Minister of J&K after the conclusion of the programme in a peacefull manner so as to project their demands before the government. But the Administration acting in a authoritarian manner detained a number of employees and brought them to Police Station Kathua. They were detained without any reason as all of them were either sitting at the venue of programme or going to attend the same. Police undertook Lathi charge on unarmed employees particularly FMPHW who wanted to raise their demand before the authorities. In the Lathi Charge action from the police a number of employees were seriously injured. Amongst the injured employees, Smt. Kamla Devi and Smt. Karmo Devi received serious injuries and after receiving first aid from District Hospital Kathua they were referred to GMC Jammu for further treatment. A number of employees who were injured and registered Medico Legal Case include Sh. Kuldeep Dabgotra, Ch. Aslam, and others. Meanwhile, Team of JKMEF led by Sh. Sushil Sudan President, JKMEF alongwith hundreds of employees in the form of protest march through Main Street of Kathua reached Police Station Kathua where hundreds of employees were detained, and were later released. Later on the team reached DH Kathua where injured employees were receiving the treatment.Taking a serious cognizance of this matter and Govt. apathy and non seriousness, Jammu Kashmir Medical Federation has extended the strike call further till 14 of June 2017 alongwith call of Jammu Chalo on the 14 of June 2017. Mean time employees association of Govt. Medical College Jammu including Sh. Davinder Rathore, Naresh Kumar, Satvir Singh and others have condemned the Police action on FMPHW’s at Kathua.
