10 bovine animals rescued

[ September 09, 2017 ] Jammu: In continuation to staunch drive launched by the District Police Kathua to nab the bovine smugglers, today on 09.09.2017, at about 0550 hrs Police Party of P/S Lakhanpur headed by SHO PS Lakhanpur, Inspr. Kulbir Singh, action on specific information laid down naka at Golden Gate, Lakhanpur and intercepted one Tipper bearing registration No. PB06B-4303 loaded with bovine which was on way from Punjab towards Jammu. After observing the Police party, driver of the vehicle managed to escape from the spot taking the advantage of darkness leaving behind the vehicle at some distance from naka. During search of said vehicle, 10 bovine were rescued and in this regard a case FIR No. 87/2017 u/s 188 RPC, 3 PC Act stands registered at P/S Lakhanpur and investigation into the matter is in progress to nab the nexus of bovine smuggling. This drive was carried out under the supervision of Shri Parul Bhardwaj, DySP DAR Kathua and overall supervision of Mohd. Suleman Choudhary-IPS, SSP Kathua.
