SP launched drive to ensure safety and security of school children

[ September 12, 2017 ] Under operation Paathshala launched by SSP Jammu, today SP City South Jammu Sh. Sandeep Chaudhary, IPS has launched a drive to ensure safety and security of school children in Jammu City South Area. He stated that in view of recent incident took place in Gurgoan in which a seven year child lost his life, various school authorities have been contacted to co-operate in ensuring safe and secure schooling for children. The SP emphasized that above all, sincere cooperation of school authorities is solicited because there is nothing more precious in this world than the lives of our children. And the cooperation extended by school authorities in this exercise will go a long way in ensuring the safety and security of school children. The SP City South stated that the J&K Police has always taken the safety and security of people as its top priority. Fulfilling our responsibility towards society we are taking a step towards ensuring safe and secure schools for our children. Various school administrations have been contacted to provide the list of their staff, bus conductors, bus drivers, janitors, other helping staff and security guards. A thorough verification of background check will be conducted. An awareness seminar will be conducted with school principals very soon. A booklet on safety and security guidelines on the basis of directions of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and CBSE will be compiled and provided to schools for implementation. He appealed to the school authorities that children suffer no harm in exercising their fundamental to education and ensure that schools provide safe facilities as part of a compulsory education.
