Jammu Municipal Corporation has failed to take NOCs seriously as in several cases building permission was provided when concerned departments were against it as a result of which several persons grabbed or encroached state land including water bodies (Pond) within Municipal areas. The live example of this is one Kuldeep Raj Choudhary has grabbed nearly fifteen Marlas (4000 Sqft) of pond land under Khasra No. 166 Min of old village Channi Himmat. It deserves mentioning here that this piece of land was actually part of pond land and children graveyard (Shishu Samadhian) under Khasra No. 189 (Qabrasthan) 46 Kanals 6 Marlas and under Khasra No. 166 (39 Kanal and 3 Marlas), 24 kanal pond land and 15 Kanal 3 Marlas gair Mumkin Rohardh of village Channi Himmat Jammu. Worthwhile to mention here that Kuldeep Raj Choudhary is outsider and not state subject and fraudulently with the help of revenue officials managed to grab this 15 marlas piece of land. Any how the owner like revenue officials with the help of JMC enforcement staff without JMC permission initially constructed a ground floor both residential and commercial (big shop). Thereafter the owner in the year 2020-2021 started construction of first floor, aggrieved locals approached then Tehsildar Bahu who taking serious cognizance of this and ordered stopping work henceforth in the middle of construction of first floor. However during the tenure of then enforcement Inspector Ram Khajuria managed to complete half construction of first floor covering an area of nearly 1500 Sqft. Despite strong resentment by locals and also RTI/Social Activists bringing facts and figures before JMC authorities, nothing was done and now with the help of JMC enforcement Inspector Jasbir Singh completed construction of first floor by covering remaining 1500 Sqft area . Now slab work has been completed and still shuttering in place as on date. Surprisingly no BOCA notices has been served to owner when the owner is all set to extend construction further as iron beams are in place and there is every likelihood that the owner will further enhance construction area.
