Jammu Municipal Corporation has extended long rope to its enforcement staff which instead of performing their professional duty to ensure every construction in Municipal areas as per approved site plans and also extending unfair help to violators who are raising their choice constructions by greasing palms of enforcement staff.
This is evident from the fact that despite bringing well in time unauthorized commercial construction on existing shop already running under name and style Pawan Medicos at Sainik Colony, Ward-69, Sector-C owned by Pawan Kumar, JMC enforcement did nothing despite the fact that locals strongly opposed and also brought the same in kind notice of JMC higher authorities. As a result of which lantern work covering nearly 1000 Sqft was completed on Sunday (2-7-2023) on existing shop without maintaining setbacks at night and the photographs of same were immediately circulated on the Whatsapp numbers of Commissioner JMC, Secretary JMC besides also to Enforcement Inspector deputed in Ward-69 Ram Khajuria for their immediate action but till evening no action was taken against owner which exposes tall claims of transparency and accountability on their part as the construction work continues. Surprisingly despite bringing same into kind notice of local Corporator Gurmeet Kour Randhawa she too didn’t do anything to stop this commercial construction on existing shop without maintains setbacks.
